Printer-friendly version

This award scheme is designed for students in grades 3-5. It aims to develop all facets of the student through intellectual, aesthetic, creative and physical activity.

The programme also develops a sense of responsibility in students both to themselves and to others, within the school, the local and international communities.

This is reflected in the encouragement of students to participate fully in school life, to become involved in service to the local community and to develop an informed awareness of international concerns.

By the end of grade 5, in order to qualify for the award, the student must have finished seven activities, as well as the modules of the compulsory Home Economics programme (which is part of the academic programme) as follows:

Creativity: 2 activities + Home Economics
Action: 3 activities
Service: 2 activities + Home Economics

New students joining the school in grades 4 and 5 are expected to have participated in the following by the end of grade 5:

Creativity: 1 activity + Home Economics
Action: 2 activities
Service: 1 activity + Home Economics

A student, who completes more than the minimum requirements, will receive a special certificate of honour.

Students may receive credit to count towards the Award in the event that they are participating in an organised, long-tem activity outside school, which is not offered in school.
